Now, the real work begins. Not just for you, but for all of us. We voted for you for change. Please inspire the nation to really do it. Bring the helping hand you promised, but PLEASE MAKE IT A HAND UP.
I heard recently on a radio show that no President has the ability to affect me. No one man in the office will change my individual life. I had to beg to differ. As much as they cannot change my bills, I do believe they all have the ability to inspire from one of the best pulpits in the world. Any time they have an address, every media outlet produces the words for the world.
Today, I am very proud of our country. I think history will prove that this will be a win for everyone.

2011- 3 years later- I am very disillusioned. Politics is a horrible game, and now, it seems like we are locked in a game of ideological chicken that produces a government that is ineffective because of an encouraged ignorance to compromise. I worry that the American public is getting a stupid government, because it is representing a stupid people that elected it and then grossly provided no accountability to it.
